Those enlarged pulleys reduce drivetrain friction by minimising chain articulation, but their increased frontal area can eat into any performance gains by reducing aerodynamic efficiency.
By covering its OSPW in a sculpted shroud, Kogel aims to keep the drivetrain efficiency while reducing the drag, thereby achieving the best of both worlds.
The structure is made from CNC’d aluminium to ensure stiff ness and therefore maintain shift quality, while the pulleys roll on hybrid ceramic bearings for low-friction smoothness.
