Sydney Cycling: Peaks Challenge Gold Coast training

After a resounding response to the first Peaks Challenge Gold Coast training ride the Sydney Bicycle Network crew are ready to go again.

Join Team Bicycle Network in Sydney for the second Peaks Challenge – Gold Coast training ride.

MEET: Hornsby Park (bus stop), Hornsby @ 6.30am Saturday 16 May.

THE RIDE: Starting at the Hornsby Park bus stop (opposite the police station) at 6:30am on Saturday 16 May the Bicycle Network bunch will head north along the Old Pacific Highway towards Brooklyn. A descent towards the Hawkesbury River will be followed by the first climb up Mt White. After regrouping at the top we’ll continue along towards the Calga Interchange before making a right turn down into Mooney Mooney for the second climb of the day. With everyone on we’ll turn left onto Wisemans Ferry Road and follow it until reaching Somersby. Having covered around 70km the bunch will stop at Peats Ridge for refuelling. Refreshments bathroom facilities are available. Additional nature stops can be made along the way as required. Topped up and stomaches filled it’s back onto Peats Ridge Road to Calga and Mt White. The final climb of the day will be Pie in the Sky. If required we can also make a stop here for additional refreshments. It’s approximately 20km from the Pie shop to our start location at Hornsby. Return to Hornsby around 11:30 with roughly 27km/h average speed.
