Campagnolo Hyperon

What is it about Campagnolo that gets our hearts racing?

The release of the new Hyperon wheelset from the artisan Italian component manufacturers has done it again, blending passion with performance with a wheel that would be at the top of Campag fans’ lists (were it not for the even-more-special Hyperon Ultra, which was released earlier this year).

Hyperon is Campag’s lightweight highperformance wheelset and it includes many of the best features the brand has to offer.

The singlejoint rim construction delivers a reduced weight for these disc-brake wheels and reduces potential weak spots in the rim.

The asymmetric rim profile allows for great stiffness and torsional tension management, which Campag says improves handling.

The rims are 37mm deep and have a 21mm internal width, suitable for either tubeless or tubed tyres.

Campagnolo claims the light weight and unique construction of the wheels makes it its best handling wheel alongside the top-shelf Hyperon Ultra.

The Hyperons come in at 1,340g for the pair, 100 grams heavier than the Ultras, which also boast internal nipples and the famed Campagnolo Cult bearings.

The Ultras also have head-turning gold graphics on them, but retail for closer to $6k.

The Hyperon gives Campag enthusiasts some top-end options and delivers a premium lightweight wheelset without an overtly intimidating price tag.

Pricing €2,590 (approx. $4,320, converted)
