Australian Team Shines at the Hong Kong Cyclothon 2023

The annual outdoor sports extravaganza, the “Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon”, organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), wrapped up on a high note on 22 October.

An astounding 5,000 cyclists participated in the exhilarating seven rides and races.

The cyclists passed through several of Hong Kong’s major routes and journeyed past its most iconic landmarks, making it an unforgettable experience for all.

Australia’s Team Claims Victory in UCI 1.1 Road Race

Fourteen fantastic teams from across the globe, representing Australia, Italy, Malaysia, Thailand, Mainland China, and Hong Kong participated in the event.

Nearly 100 professional riders took on the challenge of Hong Kong’s uniquely curvy and narrow racetrack.

After an impressive 24-lap, 103.2km race, the victorious Team Jayco AlUla’s led by the talented Lukas Pöstlberger from the Australia team emerged as the champions.

Second place went to Australian Kane Richards from ARA | Skip Capital, while Team Jayco AlUla continued to shine, with Zdenek Stybar and another talented Australian, Blake Quick, took third and fourth place.

The festivities extended to all age groups with over 200 enthusiastic children, aged six and above, sharing the joy of cycling with their parents in the Family Fun Ride.
