Not usually a destination associated with cycling, Wagga Wagga continues to surprise us.

Cyclist was just as skeptical two years ago, we made the trip and we were very well rewarded. Since then we have eagerly awaited every year for the next edition and as expected, the 2018 Wagga Gears and Beers is getting bigger and better.

Before we could even preview last year’s event, the eagerly anticipated Dirty 130 had sold out! This year it’s back and Gears and Beers have stuck with last year’s format, a whole range of road rides from 9km to 105km, and the two unique unsealed courses the Filthy 50km and the Rapha Dirty 130km.

The ride options remain the same, but the event has been taken to another level. On the eve of the ride there’s a bespoke bike building event and the AFL Grand Final screened at rider’s registration. After the ride, opening from 11am will be what everyone’s waiting for, the craft beer festival. A huge range of brewers, local and interstate, will be supported with wineries and plenty of providores and producers from the Riverina to refuel after the ride. If you’re planning another night, stay tuned for details of the breakfast and recovery ride the next day too.

Heard enough? Enter now.

Or if you need anymore reasons we’ve provided some scenery from previous year’s: 2016 & 2017.

We’ll see you there!
