It’s not often you get to cycle under the trusses of the Sydney Harbour Bridge but on October 14 thousands of cyclists will get to venture off the bicycle path and onto those sweet tarmac lanes. Spring Cycle happens only once a year so don’t miss out on this special opportunity to take to the streets.

This tradition has carried on for 35 years now, and something all cyclists would like to see more regularly. It may not be the fastest ride you’ll do but those KOM’s and QOM’s will be replaced with ample good vibes and a great day out that delivers all those other benefits we so often forget when out on the bike. Community, road sharing, and getting more people involved in this great sport. That’s worth more than any place on a segment leaderboard.

The Routes

Most of you will be looking at the 105km Challenge or 50km Classic, both these rides cross the Harbour Bridge and head west, traversing the harbour and Parramatta River to the finish at Sydney Olympic Park. Sydney riding doesn’t get any more iconic, except for maybe a latte at Bondi.

The 18km River Ride begins in Parramatta following the paths and roads right beside the water’s edge all the way east to finish, joining in with the 105km and 50km rides. The 10km City Ride is perfect for the little ones and crosses the Harbour Bridge south bound, looping around Circular Quay, through The Rocks, Darling Harbour and finishes in Pyrmont.

Bicycle NSW has partnered this year with Fairfax Events and Entertainment in the hope of attracting over 10,000 like-minded riders for the 2018 Spring Financial Group Spring Cycle. Join in what is Sydney’s largest recreational ride and biggest display of advocacy for our sport.

Save the date of Sunday 14 October, 2018.
