Shaving grams off its already lightweight Z1, the all-new Lazer Genesis brings WorldTour weight, speed and comfort to the everyday rider.

Launched today and immediately put to the test at the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, United Kingdom, the all-new Lazer Genesis is the lightest yet from the Belgian brand. Scrapping in just a touch lighter than the current Z1, the Genesis tips the scales at a reported 189 grams in a size medium.

Featuring 22 vents and a revised super light patented Advanced Rollsys System retention system, the Genesis becomes the helmet of choice for riders of Team Jumbo Visma, Team Sunweb and Corendon-Circus.

“Together with the Adjustable Head Basket, it secures a perfect and comfortable fit. The Lazer Genesis features ingenious vent channeling, maximising cooling efficiency along the warmer rides. It even generates a better ventilation versus riding bare headed. Both Race and Comfort padding sets are included to shave grams or increase comfort,” according to Lazer.

The Z1 has already been ridden to numerous victories across the 2019 season with Amstel Gold. stages of the Tour de France, an overall GC Vuelta title and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec to name just a few. While the new Genesis only just comes in as Lazer’s “lightest helmet ever”, we’re quietly confident the revised shaping and ventilation has also led to a faster and more comfortable all-day design.

The Genesis is compatible with the easily fitted (and removed) Aeroshell. The Aeroshell is a simple aerodynamic solution that doubles as a weather shield. The thin plastic shell clips over the helmet and can be removed in an instant. The Genesis is scheduled to be available from all great LBSs from November.
