Club Cafe: With a great view and even better coffee it is hard to resist The Great Provider after a big ride. Located on the St Kilda Marina wharf, this cafe lives up to its name. With boats passing by, a chilled setting and great food The Great Provider is the perfect recovery station. The beach is just across the road for those who need to cool down with a post ride dip, while a large breakfast menu will satisfy those low on carbs and in need of an energy boost.

Club Charity: SKCC support two foundations that help the cycling and local community. The Amy Gillet Foundation (www.amygillett.org.au) is a charity with one purpose – reducing the incidence of death and injury of bike riders. A foundation born out of tragedy, but has been saving lives of those on the road through their dedication to increasing awareness and changing road rules to keep riders safe. Locally, SKCC support Sacred Heart Mission (www.sacredheartmission.org) , a charity that began with a simple act of generosity. In 1982 Parish Priest Father Ernie Smith opened his door and shared a meal with a man who was homeless. Today a small team of committed staff help prepare simple meals out of the presbytery kitchen for more than 70 people for breakfast and lunch every day.

Star cyclist: The number one ticket holder for St Kilda Cycling Club goes to Matt Lloyd. The reason why? Fellow member, Gaelene Snelling says, “He is an awesome, all-round guy. When in Melbourne he’s always available and accessible at club functions.”

Club motto: Unofficially,“The quality of the coffee is as important as the quality of the racing.”
