The Émonda fleet has now been expanded to include an equally impressive, weight-shedding aluminium package called the ALR.
The all-new frameset, which like its carbon brother is designed to be Trek’s lightest road bike ever, has a claimed weight of just 1,050g (56cm, unpainted) and a complete of 7,820g (ALR 6). Not that long ago the one-kilogram mark was a magic number for carbon frames and now Trek has come to the table with a package that wouldn’t be out of it’s element racing or in the mountains.
While we’re yet to get our hands on the ALR we do know that each ensemble comes complete with all the features we’ve come to expect from Trek; DuoTrap, the popular H2 geometry and size specific tubing, complete Shimano groupsets without substitutions and ‘Invisible Weld Technology’. The result according to the Wisconsin-based company is a new benchmark in weight and performance for aluminium road bikes.
